T-2333 Tino’s Thheme, Red/Navy Mesh
In collaboration with LA based artist Tino Rincon, the concept of this collaboration was to produce a wearable painting. First the duck canvas was painted true to Tino’s style, incorporating vibrant colours and shapes throughout. Then, the pieces were hand cut to the preferred style (in this case the Ace 6 panel)
Playing with the idea of “framing” the hat in mesh, similar to how a painting is framed, not only protects the canvas from being touched directly, but also adds another dimension to the piece as a whole. From a distance they may seem like a run of the mill red or khaki hat, but upon closer inspection the artwork reveals itself and turns your brain to primordial ooze (in a good way).
These hats are intended to be worn and worn in, however could hold their own in any gallery.
